Has Your Life Been Affected By Cancer?
The Christian Cancer Support Group is for people whose life has been affected by cancer. As they feel comfortable in doing so, members of our support group share their personal experiences and they offer one another emotional and moral support.
While not everyone wants or needs support beyond that offered by their family and friends, we have found it helpful to turn to others outside our immediate circle. We've especially found it comforting to talk to someone who has received chemo or radiation treatments or even undergone surgery to remove the cancer.
You will find our support group to be warm and friendly and we will help you learn how to cope better and feel less isolated as you make friends with our members who have survived their journey with cancer.
Benefits of Participating
Benefits of participating in our support group may include:
Trials, Pain and Suffering
No one – whether we consider them to be good or bad - is immune to trials, pain and suffering. All our troubles (big or small) are important to God when it comes to His children. Remember, trials and troubles do not come our way without passing through God’s hands first.
We seem to have our most profound and intimate experience with God in our darkest days when we are out of options and are physically and/or emotionally hurting. It seems that during trials our prayers become more real – more heartfelt.
God is in control of all things and everything that happens to us has spiritual significance.
Romans 8:28 - We know that God causes everything to work together for good to those who love Him and are called according to His purpose.
Trials tend to help us build a Christ-like character. Paul said in Romans 5:3-4 – We know that these troubles produce patience and patience produces character.
When we allow God to take us through trials, we become more Christ-like in character and people begin to see Jesus’ reflection in us.
